At Reconext, we’re always looking for a better way to work. Sometimes that means engineering a new test platform like Titan or bringing AI to the receiving dock with Pegasus.

Automation can handle a lot, but the judgment calls and teamwork that keep operations running smoothly still come from people.

That’s why this fall, our Reynosa site opened a leadership course to all employees, and managers at our Bydgoszcz site trained in giving constructive feedback. Our Prague facility has now added its own session on effective team communication.

Inside the session

An experienced external trainer led colleagues from across the site through hands-on exercises drawn from their own work, focusing on how a well-timed question or a constructive conversation can save hours later on.

With a team representing 21 nationalities and leaders who regularly support Reconext sites around the world, Prague depends on clear communication every day.

What listening does for productivity

Refurbishing a device takes many hands and many stages, and every handoff depends on clear information. Research shows how much that matters.

A study from MIT Sloan and the University of Illinois examined U.S. Census Bureau data from about 30,000 manufacturing sites. Those that actively seek and use input from frontline workers are 16% more productive, measured by revenue per worker.

For a 100-person operation, that’s roughly the output of 16 additional people without adding headcount. For customers, that capacity means faster turnaround and more room to absorb volume spikes.

The researchers point out that frontline workers often spot inefficiencies that engineers and planners miss, since they see firsthand how things actually run. Yet only about one in five manufacturers has multiple channels for gathering that input. Teams that listen well and speak up early catch issues at the bench, before they turn into rework or delays downstream.

Better collaboration, better service

For customers, stronger communication supports the consistent quality and turnaround they rely on.

For employees, it shapes how our people feel about their work. Regular training and development show our teams that we’re investing in their growth, and that commitment helps people build long careers with us. This month alone, Prague celebrated work anniversaries of 5, 10, and an impressive 20 years, and colleagues like these carry the kind of experience and know-how that only time can build.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the session, to our trainer for an engaging day, and congratulations to all of our anniversary celebrants!
