From our Tallinn R&D Center, Reconext engineers design the automation, robotics, and AI platforms that power electronics recovery worldwide. A team of ~40 specialists has developed platforms now deployed across Europe, the Americas, and Asia — from CPE testers to AI-driven optical inspection.

Tallinn is Reconext’s dedicated R&D hub — a complete engineering site with software, electronics, and mechatronics engineers working alongside project managers, build technicians, and technical support. With design, build, and support functions under one roof, the center can take a solution from first sketch to production-ready deployment across the Reconext network.

Tallinn has become the launch point for many of Reconext’s most transformative technologies. The team has:
Advanced CPE automation — deploying Titan 3, next-gen RCU testers, and automated cleaning systems that scaled throughput across high-volume service centers.
Pioneered AI inspection — building Optiline platforms now deployed in multiple recovery programs, with dozens of units operating worldwide.
Delivered rollouts — from SpectrumX diagnostics and secure erasure to fully automated receiving lines and robotic cleaning systems for laptops across global facilities.

Components from end-of-life hardware are reused in new machine builds, offices operate paperless by default, and waste is sorted and recycled under Estonia’s strict regulations. The team’s academic depth — including PhDs in AI, physics, and electronics — combines with hands-on experience to deliver practical solutions that scale across Reconext’s global network. It’s a small team with global reach, shaping solutions used across continents.

Tallinn is a founding member of the Estonian Electronics Association and partners closely with Tallinn Technical University. By collaborating with local RF and embedded electronics firms, the center taps into one of Europe’s most advanced digital economies.
