Tamales, aguas frescas, and a lively round of Lotería set the tone for Mexican Independence Day at Reconext for Hispanic Heritage Month. Teams in Mexico and along the U.S. border each found their own way to celebrate, and the spirit of the holiday filled every site. For our colleagues, these traditions carry deep personal meaning, and sharing them at work made the day feel even more like home.

Calexico

At our site in Calexico, California, the team gathered for a special appreciation lunch. Calexico sits in the United States, yet Mexican culture shapes everyday life in this border community. The site wanted to honor that connection over traditional tamales and augas frescas.

Reynosa

In Reynosa, employees celebrated with a day of Mexican culture and traditions. The highlight was a game of Lotería, one of the country’s most beloved traditional games. Employees also enjoyed a spread of traditional Mexican dishes. The celebration strengthened team spirit and gave colleagues a chance to share their roots together.

Mexico City

Our Mexico City team marked the occasion with a sweet gesture. Every employee received an assortment of traditional Mexican candies to enjoy during the holiday.

Across these sites, the celebrations gave colleagues a moment to step back from daily work and honor a holiday that means a great deal to them. Reconext operates in communities around the world, and our employees bring their cultures and traditions with them. Celebrating those traditions together helps every site feel like part of its community.
