Both of Reconext’s facilities in Mexicali, Mexico, have earned Safe Company Certification from Mexico’s Secretariat of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS)!

Getting there took a year of diligent preparation and a government review of each site against 37 Mexican Official Standards (NOMs) for occupational health and safety.

What the Certification Involves

The NOMs are Mexico’s official workplace health and safety standards. They cover everything from physical hazards, such as fire and electrical safety, to psychosocial risks like workplace stress. During the evaluation, STPS reviewed how Mexicali  Gómez Morín and Mexicali Tecnomex meet the requirements in each of these areas.

The certification is voluntary. We took it on as an added commitment to safety, compliance, and the people who work at both sites.

Why It Matters for Customers

Customers with programs in Mexicali now have government-verified evidence that the facilities meet rigorous health and safety standards. The evaluation process also strengthens our standing with the regulators who oversee those standards.

The Team Behind It

César Rodríguez, EHS Manager, took the initiative to pursue the certification and led the project from start to finish, coordinating the work across both facilities. The full EHS team and departments throughout Mexicali 1 and Mexicali 2 prepared alongside him and carried the sites through the evaluation.

Congratulations to everyone at Reconext Mexicali on this achievement and for their commitment to safety!
