Reconext has released Spectrum X Chrome, extending our automated refurbishment platform to Chromebooks.

Developed at our Tallinn R&D center, Spectrum X runs data sanitization and functional diagnostics within a controlled, end-to-end framework. With this release, it supports every major laptop environment we encounter: Windows PCs, Intel-based Macs, Apple Silicon Macs, and Chromebooks.

Chromebooks make up a growing share of the laptop fleets we support, particularly from schools and businesses. Before any laptop can return to use, it needs secure data erasure and a reliable assessment of its condition.

Spectrum X Chrome brings both to Chromebooks, so they now move through the same automated process as the rest of the fleet. That lets us handle larger volumes at lower cost while removing the variability of manual work.

Our sites can now apply the right erasure and diagnostic workflow to each laptop category from one Reconext system. For customers, that means every device follows a defined process, whatever mix they send us.

Spectrum X Chrome is part of a wider engineering effort to close the remaining gaps in our automation. Our R&D teams focus on removing manual process steps and extending proven technology to new product categories in order to move our refurbishment processes toward greater efficiency. As device ecosystems continue to evolve, we’ll keep extending the platform to cover what our customers need.
