Our teams in Mexicali and Reynosa have been making the most of the spring season, with a range of activities that bring people together, give back to the community, and celebrate what makes our company culture worth talking about. Here’s a look at what’s been happening.
Mexicali: Teamwork On and Off the Field
Friendly Games, Friendly Competition
Employees from both Mexicali plants recently organized friendly basketball and soccer matches against other local companies, putting teamwork, wellness, and employee engagement front and center. Players got to compete, move, and enjoy some healthy rivalry in a fun and welcoming environment.

The 2026 Maquila Association Sports Tournament
The 2026 Maquila Association Sports Tournament officially kicked off with its opening ceremony at the end of April, and Reconext has a Rapid Soccer Team in this year’s competition! The tournament connects companies across our community, promotes active lifestyles, and puts the talent and spirit of our employees on full display.

A Fishing Trip with GM Sergio Corral
Staff members from Mexicali Plant 1 recently spent a day on the water with General Manager Sergio Corral, taking in some sunshine, reeling in a few impressive catches, and enjoying quality time together outside of work. The group came back with some big fish and a high bar set for the next trip. A big thank you to Sergio for making it happen and for showing that great leadership shows up in all kinds of places.

Reynosa: Growing Community, Inside and Out
Trees for Tomorrow: A Campus Reforestation Initiative
Through an existing collaboration agreement with a local university, the Reynosa team coordinated the donation of trees to support a campus reforestation initiative. Several team members were actively involved in the planning and delivery, contributing directly to a greener campus and a stronger relationship with the academic community.
The trees are expected to expand green spaces, improve air quality over time, and foster a more environmentally conscious culture among students and faculty. This initiative reflects both our sustainability values and our commitment to the communities we’re part of.
Reynosa’s Volleyball Tournament
The Reynosa site hosted a fast-paced volleyball tournament that brought teams together in an environment built around communication, engagement, and well-being. The event drew enthusiastic participation from across the operation.
These highlights are just a glimpse of the culture our Mexico teams are building, and there’s plenty more to come as we move into summer!
